That’s what two of my lower vertebrae look like in my back. So occasionally, the disc in between them bulges. And, for extra fun, this just happens to be right where my sciatic nerve is. So, when it flares up and gets inflamed and aggravated, my sciatic also flares up and hurts all the way down into my foot. It makes everything harder.
Last year I threw out my back in the last few days of January and it didn’t get completely better until April. Almost May. Four months of pain. You may have seen some of the posts I did last year about it.
Right now I’m on the beginning of Week four of a six week work out program and although it’s been hard for me, I’ve been liking it. A lot. But, my back the last few days has been hurting and I had to call my chiropractor this morning.
I have to slow down. Stay active, keep exercising, but slow down and be careful of lifting. So, half my workouts I have to be careful of. Or skip, if they involve lifting. I’m to keep active though, because it helps stop the inflammation.
It’s so frustrating.
And the worst part is, I’m almost 40 so I can’t bounce back the way I could when I was younger. I feel sometimes like I completely squandered my twenties and thirties. I didn’t know how good I had it then.
