You know how sometimes things just click into place when you’re not expecting?
Yesterday I was online with some of my lovely friends having a bit of a pity party. Quitting smoking, stress over Shawn’s health, stress over not working coupled with the fact that I’m not working therefore I’m not even nearly as active has I am when I have a job, and I’m gaining weight.
I’m almost back up to where I was four years ago and that isn’t cool. I worked so hard back then to get down to a size that was healthier for me, not only size wise, but I was much more active and able to do more. My back didn’t hurt, I had more stamina and I just felt better.
BUT. I was on my phone last night before bed touring around and I saw that my cousin Chris (who is a personal trainer) is taking his work to the next level. He is taking his six week program that he developed and turning it into a video series so that he can work with people from all over, instead of just in the city where he lives. This is so cool, because I know the kinds of results he’s been getting (check out his https://instagram.com/cxtraining/ account) plus, if I trust anyone to help with this, it’s Chris.
I had a personal trainer back in T-burg for about six months. That was when I got my best results. Sadly, Steve passed away in 2012. I haven’t worked with anyone since then and my lack of motivation is showing.
So, I chatted with Chris for a bit last night and I am going to be one of the first people to go through his new video program! I’m going to document it all on here as well so you can see what’s happening. As long as you all promise not to laugh at my before pictures, I am nearly 40, after all!
May 4th is when it all gets started. I’m crazy excited about it, actually. When Shawn had his heart attack it was a huge wake up call for us both. We quit smoking, we eat better and we do have our own little gym in the house, but keeping on track and keeping to a program are always challenging and this timing could not have been better for me.
In the meantime, still working like gangbusters on Room 15 and Summer Poppies.
The snow is melting a little more each day and I am finally feeling the energy of spring coming back.
Happy days, my friends.
