Back when I used to post Funny Saturday all the time, I devoted a good chunk of the posts to Irish commedian Tommy Tiernan. I love most Irish comics and british comics but Tommy is undoubtedly one of my favourites.
Tonight he is in Saint John.
And I. Am going. To see him.
Actually, all of us are. (Sorry Keisha)
We even got the box seats so we’ll be right up along side the stage with him. It’s been a roller coaster six months. We can all use a good laugh.
I wrote a letter to Tommy’s agent back when I bought the tickets and invited him, and anyone he is travelling with, to join us at our house tonight for dinner. You know, in case he was missing Ireland and wanted some hospitality from a fellow countryman, She wrote me back a lovely letter in reply, thanking us for the offer and passed it on. Of course we never expected to be taken up on the offer. But it would have been really cool. Still, tonight we’ll be sitting up next to the stage having a laugh and a grand bit of craic.
Here is some classic Tommy, and one of my favourite bits from his stand up:
