Tomorrow is the big day. Annnd, we’re almost snowed in here. Two massive snow systems have landed in under a week and the city has shut down again and we had to dig out of two MORE feet of snow this morning just so that Shawn could go to work.
I have a shit-ton of stuff to get done today because TOMORROW IS OUR ANNIVERSARY!!
I can’t remember the last time I was this excited. I don’t even think I was this frenzied leading up to our wedding day 20 years ago. I remember being remarkably calm. Though that could be 20 years of fog and age clouding up my memories, who knows.
We can’t have all our family and close friends here for us this time so, even though I LOVE that it’s going to be intimate, with just us and most of the kids in the living room, we are also live broadcasting it on Youtube so our relatives can see it.
I am going to do a test run of the live broadcast today so that I can make sure the sound is okay.
The ONLY downside is that Keisha can’t be here with us. We were originally going to do it over skype so that she can also read part of the ceremony, but there is too much family and I can’t put that many of us on skype, so that’s out. But, she will be tuned in so I am hoping there will be a lot of comments for her on the feed.
Kiki, we love you so much and we will miss you, but you will be in our hearts for the whole thing. Promise.
Anyway, I have to go now and start on the long laundry list of to-do items.
I’m so humbled and amazed and thankful that we made it here. I was worried for a while there that we might not. Thank you Shawn. You have given more to me as a husband and a partner than I can ever express to you. I can’t wait to renew our vows and I stand with you, facing our future together and hopefully, the next 20 years.
