I completely understand the nickname now.
Every. Single. Morning. this week I have driven in to work through fog. With the exception of Tuesday (Canada Day was beautiful).
It’s really interesting how quickly you can become acclimated to a new place. It’s almost been a year since we moved here and already I can’t even fathom going through the kind of sweltering summer weather Ontario has been experiencing over the last couple of weeks. Don’t get me wrong, a few more days over 25 degrees would be really, really nice, but I love that it cools down here at night and I never feel like it’s a chore to breathe.
I still can’t get over how absolutely breathtaking it is here. Even while we prepare for the hurricane/tropical storm to hit us tomorrow morning, even with the fog, it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever lived, even edging out my hometown of Elora…and that’s saying something.
We plan on holding up in the house tomorrow and watching/riding out the storm. And then, if the weather channel is right, enjoying a full six days in a row of sunny, bright and warm weather. I honestly can’t wait.
Yesterday my parents celebrated 43 years of marriage and today my brother turns 40.
Life, no matter our protestations, continues to move at a frantic clip. I’m just happy to be here for the ride. Especially since the view from my new home is so beautiful.
