It’s been nine months since we moved. Nine whole months! Hard to believe that the time has gone by so quickly. Life in our new province has been the most amazing time and some of the hardest time ever. Amazing because, honestly, I can’t for the life of me understand how it is that New Brunswick is not more of a tourist destination. We are known as the ‘drive-by province’. Our roads are ever busy with travellers heading to Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Maine. But it’s truly beautiful here. In Ontario, one of my favourite parts of the province was Algonquin Park. No bad views, parks, paths and trails, lakes, rivers and hills and you guys, that’s ALL THIS PROVINCE IS!! There are no bad views. The mountains are amazing, the bay, lakes and rivers are breathtaking and there are so many things to see and amazing places to visit. We’re all looking forward to this summer when we can explore even more of our new home.
I have had a real struggle finding work. I have fussed about it, fretted about it, stressed about it and even reached the point where I was getting worried about never finding something that I liked or even in my field. I was getting to the point of…should I look into fast food or retail to tide me over. It wasn’t my ideal, but, hey, I needed to work.
Well, I got a job today. In my field, with people I like. I’m really looking forward to it. I start in a week and two days and I’m already counting the hours.
My daughter and I were joking just last night of how long this search has been for me, the longest I’ve been out of work since I was still in my baby-making years, and we realized, hey- I could have had a baby in this time.
I’m so glad those years are done for me.
*In other news, work is moving forward, slowly, but moving, on Summer Poppies. That’s a baby I am excited for.
