Turns out that here in good ‘ol NB, March break is the first week of the month, unlike the Ontario where it is the second week. So…the kids are home all week!
I sat down with them on Friday and laid out some plans. We’re going to clean. All the stuff that doesn’t normally get touched is getting hauled down, dusted off, sorted out or donated this week. How we manage to accumulate so much crap in our lives is beyond me. But…there it is.
Don’t worry, I also plan to reward them with stuff to thank them for the help. And we have big plans for cooking/baking together this week. I firmly believe that they should all know the basics of how to put together a meal…and well, that they should know more than the basics since we like to eat well in this house. I’m really looking forward to it.
Today is laundry over haul and likely enough clothing and bedding to wash that will see us through until Wednesday. It has to get done though, all the stuff that winds up under beds or tucked away somewhere (especially socks, which turn up in our house every-damn-where).
I am happy to say though that we are even looking forward to it. Loud music on, kids making noise but getting things done. A trip or two to value village to see if we can find some new jeans for some of them. We laugh a lot, we’re loud and rowdy but dammit if we aren’t crazy productive when we wanna be.
What will you be doing for your March breaks?
