*Not safe for my parents to read*
Seriously, come back another day, mum.
Okay, I need to vent something. Recently been having conversations with some of my online girlfriends and we’ve been discussing some bedroom stuff. One thing that keeps on coming up is the level of noise being made by parents at night in a house with children.
At least it was good to know I’m not alone in this issue, as many of the ladies have had similar experiences, but, ladies, (and gents) how do you keep from waking the kids?? And worse, how on earth do you keep your cool/not laugh/not lose the mood/not die from embarrassment when one of the teenagers yells at you at 2:30 in the morning to just knock it off already?
I mean thankfully, my noises aren’t weird. I’ve never had this kind of problem:
But it’s a conundrum. I’ve spent the better part of the last fifteen or so years being the worst kind of pillow biter, or at least trying and, according to my kids some mornings, failing. I just can’t help it. I like noise. I like hearing the sounds that go with fun time in the bedroom. I like being able to physically hear that my man is having as much fun as I am. And sometimes I am not even aware that I’m reacting out loud and in glorious technicolour. So I want to know, how do you keep it down? While, you know, keeping it up? And who knows of a great place to get ear plugs for my kids?
