I have long since turned my wedding dress into a costume that I have worn on several occasions. About three years ago, I made an over-dress for it so it looks like a beautiful princess ballgown whenever I wear it, and let’s face it, who doesn’t want to be a princess from time to time? The other night when I couldn’t sleep, I started thinking about having the same dress in red. In fact, I couldn’t get it out of my head, so the next day I went to the local fabric store and bought some great red material.
Of course when I got home and got all the bits cut out, I realized that I couldn’t find my container full of thread since the move and was frustrated that work on this great dress would have to wait.
Yesterday I finally put it together. It’s beautiful and everything I wanted it to be…except that I somehow got the dimensions too small for the top and I can’t zip it up. Frustrations abounded.
Anyway, today (or tomorrow) I am going to make another project I had put on the back burner for a while, a red corset that I bought all the accoutrements for months ago and then left it in the bag. I promise to take pictures of both when they’re finally tweaked up and post up online. Hell, I’ll even wear my tiara (yes, I have a tiara, like I said, sometimes I just need to feel like a princess).
Without working at the moment, I’m trying to get back into some of the things I really love. Sewing, reading tons of books, and Keisha is going to help me with the book I’m currently writing by going through a line edit with me. Yay!
Also, since neither Keisha nor I are working, we have been spending a LOT of time together. We have pretty much decided that if we ever made our own YouTube channel, it would pretty much be the funniest thing ever. At least to us it would. To everyone else it would likely just be videos of us laughing our asses off at stuff that no one else a) understood or b) found as remotely funny as we do. Needless to say I’ve been laughing a lot.
That’s it from the east coast for today. I’m off now to re-affix the plastic covering on the little sun room at the back of my house.
