It was yesterday. I was just going about my (fairly) normal routine when my lower back started to hurt. Yes, again.
At first it was just a little sore as I sat on my office chair, but I could feel the pressure lift off it every time I got up, which was a lot, yesterday. However, as the day wore on, my back got worse and worse.
By the time I got to four o’clock, I was getting rather annoyed at it.
Plus, I felt like this guy, and I didn’t want to feel like this guy. Hell, I didn’t want to feel like a guy. Period.
But yeah, it hurt a lot.
So, I went home and did something I rarely do at the best of times, and almost never in early evening right after work. I had a bath. A really hot one, and I also took some muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory pills. You’d think that would work, but no. By seven o’clock I was still in crazy pain. So, I added an aleve or two on top of the earlier meds.
I was in bed before 8pm.
Let me tell you this. Nothing will make you feel like you’re getting old like unexplained sudden onset back pain, fatigue at 8pm, having to make noises to get up off of a chair or couch, or even to turn over in bed and falling into a deep sleep only to be awakened by the need to pee. Again. And again.
So today me and my big fat stupid back are doing more pain killers + other drugs to try and make me functional when all I really want to do is curl up into a ball and sleep until the hurt stops.
Back pain. It sucks.

Awww man that really blows! Many members of my family are plagued with something similar to this. The only time I’ve had real back pain was kidney stones, so definitely quite different but a similar level of stupid. I hope you feel better soon.
It’s less today than the last two days, but damn, I always forget how much I need a good back until mine goes out.
Thanks, it’s slow yoga for me today to try and get it stretched out a bit.
